Solar glass

Increasing system efficiency – that is the focus of attention for innovations in the photovoltaic industry. After years of trials, our researchers at Centrosolar Glas have come up with an anti-reflective coating for solar glass that is capable of increasing a module's output by 3 - 6 %. An additional glass layer measuring just 1,000 atomic layers of SiO2 is applied to the cover glass. The refractive index of this nanoporous glass/air mixture of 1.23 is exactly mid-way between that of the solid glass material and the ambient air, allowing virtually 100 % of the incident light to pass through. A spectacular success for applied research that we and our development partners have patented.
CENTROSOL solar glass – nano technology increases annual energy yield by up to 7 %

Solar glass made by Centrosolar Glas is used to cover solar thermal collectors as well as solar panels. In addition a nano-coating helps to minimise the reflection of sun rays and thus significantly increases the efficiency of the solar system. The annual energy yield of a solar system may be increased by up to 7 % and that of solar collectors by as much as 10 %.
Award-winning special applications for greenhouses

CENTROSOL structural glasses in particular, with their microstructured surface, achieve very high transmission of diffuse, optimally distributed light in greenhouses. The latest invention is a glass-foil-combination, that has been awarded the „Umweltpreis Gartenbau NRW 2006“ (Award for horticulture sponsored by the federal state of North-Rhine Westphalia) for being the most cutting-edge greenhouse.
